RESTORATION

ELEMENTS

In collaboration with the Cleveland History Center, the courtyard of the Western Reserve Historical Society’s Hay Garden was restored. We worked with the original classical composition to restore masonry walls, walks, and planting. Formal planting beds of boxwood, hydrangea, native ground covers, and tulips accentuate a central statue perched on an original carved stone plinth. Dispersed throughout the garden are restored stone benches, tables, and planters. ADG worked with local artisans to match and replace original damaged paving, balustrades, antique containers, walls, and stairs. As the space is a completely enclosed courtyard, all work was done aerially by crane over existing buildings.
